The tailgate is the door at the back of the vehicle found especially for trucks and sports utility vehicles (SUV). This is the entry and exit of cargo, loads and other equipment in and out of the vehicle. The tailgate support cable is the part that supports the tailgate whenever it is being opened. The tailgate support cable is at the same level to the tailgate of the truck if it is lowered making it easy to put the load on the cargo or bring out the cargo from the truck bed.

The tailgate support cable holds the tailgate door so that it will not swing and open immediately. This will also prevent any person to get hurt. The tailgate support cable is made up of metal that are located on the tailgate. Some vehicle owner is very careless they just put heavy equipment and they use the tailgate as a ramp. Even the tailgate support cable is made of out metal, the more heavy loads being placed at the tailgate that can cause the tailgate to swing open, sooner the tail gate support cable can be damaged due to incapacity to provide adequate support to the tailgate. If you continue using it in such condition, the tailgate hinges will loosen up and sooner it will be also damaged. If you notice that the tailgate support cable is already broken or damaged, replace it immediately to avoid the tailgate hinges to be damaged and to prevent the vehicle tailgate to slam on your chin or knees.
